A category game where the rare answer wins
You know the game: someone names a category and you name something in it. Cosmillion turns it into a free daily game online, with one twist: the less common your answer, the more it scores. 7 categories a day, 25 seconds each, the same for everyone.

How it works
Each prompt is a category, like “Name a fruit”. You have 25 seconds to type something that fits. Every category has a board of valid answers, each ranked by how rare it is. Apple counts, but almost everyone says it, so it scores +10. Jabuticaba is just as correct and far less common, so it scores +100.
Seven categories make a game, so a perfect day is 700 points. The full scoring table is on the how to play page.

Name the niche things
Skip the first thing you think of. In a category game the obvious answer is everyone's answer.
Go one level down. A specific variety, brand or regional name usually beats the general one.
Bring your own world. Hobbies, work and the place you grew up are full of answers other players miss. More on the idea behind it in the rarest answer game.
Questions
What is a category game?
A game where you get a category, like “Name a fruit”, and have to name something that belongs in it. Classic versions are played out loud in a group. Cosmillion is a daily online version where rarer answers score more.
How is this different from the usual category game?
In most category games you are out if you can't think of an answer or repeat one. Here any valid answer scores, from 10 points for a common one to 100 for the rarest, so it pays to name the niche things other people forget.
Do answers have to start with a certain letter?
No. There is no letter rule. Anything that really fits the category counts, and spelling variants, plurals and accents are accepted.
Can I play it with friends?
Yes. Everyone gets the same 7 categories each day, so after you finish you can send a challenge link and compare who found the rarer answers.
Is it free?
Yes. The daily game is free, with no sign-up and no download. It plays in your browser on phone or computer.
